BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING

The department of Mechatronics Engineering came into being in year 2023 and it is the branch of engineering that deals with the design of computer-controlled electromechanical systems. The essence of it is that the design of the mechanical system must be performed together with the design of the electrical/electronic and computer control aspects that together, also includes a combination of robotics, electronics, computer science, telecommunications, systems, control, and product engineering, comprise a complete system.

The courses taken in the mechatronics engineering ranges from courses covering systems design engineering and electrical and computer engineering. This makes the mechatronics program ideal for students seeking a broad, interdisciplinary engineering education that is highly integrated and focussed.

The departments runs the Undergraduate (B.Tech.), and will run the Postgraduate (M.Tech. and Ph.D) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD). Seminars would be organized and presented by both students and academic staff to provoke progressive academic achievements both in research and nation building. The school would organize School lectures and Conferences every year. The school also plan to have a reputable journal to disseminate research findings.

The pioneer Head of Department of the school is Dr. M. K. Adeyeri.
